A dream manifest…originally launched in 2018, Faye Riches and Samantha Layzell recently moved Same Star Yoga to a purpose-built space in the beautiful Constable countryside village of East Bergholt on the border of Essex and Suffolk.

The pair have been involved in this build from the very beginning, laying crystals and prayers under the foundations of the reception area to seal in their shared intentions of love and abundance for Same Star’s new home.

“Same Star Yoga is all about community and providing a safe and loving space for students to explore the tools of yoga so that they may gain a remembrance of who they really are at the core of their being — one love. Even our name implies this theory of oneness: we are all part of the Same Star,” says Riches.

As you step into the triple height reception you immediately feel an invitation to relax due to the clever use of colour, texture and space within this statement entrance. There are 108 handmade tiles laid over the buried crystals ensuring that everyone who walks into the studio benefits from the intentions of abundance and love. The walls are a mix of reclaimed pallet wood cladding and textured raw plaster giving the reception a gentle Moroccan welcoming feel.

From here, the space opens out into two studios and two treatment rooms. The main Solar studio comfortably holds 26 mats and benefits from south facing countryside views through large windows and oversized French doors with beautiful outside space for spring and summer events. The smaller Luna studio has a more intimate feel, with a lowered ceiling, and comfortably holds nine mats. This smaller space has been designed with a dual purpose and through the use of a bespoke moveable acoustic wall the studio is transformed into two large, luxurious treatment rooms.

Underfloor heating runs throughout the studios allowing for a zen, minimalist feel to all areas of this purpose-built space. These rooms are available to rent by the local community including teachers and therapists wishing to work from a modern, clean, bright and airy space overlooking the countryside.

Alongside Same Star Yoga’s multi-style class timetable and its annual 250-hour yoga teacher training, Exploration of the Self, the co-founders are now inviting other incredible teacher trainers to host their trainings in this amazing space.
