Yoga Rocks
A myriad of yoga choices, and the magic of the island of Crete, all await you at Yoga Rocks
Since 2010 Yoga Rocks has been providing amazing retreat opportunities with passion and vibrancy.
The island of Crete provides the perfect backdrop for rest and regeneration, a majestic island with huge mountains providing incredible spring water, abundant produce, a wide range of landscapes and bountiful energy. The beaches around Agios Pavlos are unchanged since the Cretan dwarf elephants were romping along them thousands of years ago! Rugged invigorating nature at its best.
The magically clear sea just two minutes walk from the retreat is an experience in itself. Dive in for long comfortable swims, relaxing wallowing, investigative snorkels or cliff jumping for an adrenaline reset.
The 2026 schedule offers plenty of inspiring, satisfying yoga. Radical rest with Uma Dinsmore Tuli is a week of nidra and therapeutic yoga practice; subtle, deep and involved. Coral Brown teaches Prana Flow; concise, intense classes inviting exploration of the creative variations she offers. Challenge yourself with Melanie Cooper and Maria Boox offering self-practice ashtanga and so much more from their deep, committed yoga experience. Or chill out, enjoying hatha yoga with one of the long-term regulars, Sky. His unique take on all things yogic with elements of qigong is entertaining, educational and transformative.
The crew at Yoga Rocks are excited that this season also sees the return of Reema Datta, following the release of her new book, The Yogi’s Way, which explores ancient yogic answers to modern issues.
Yoga Rocks’ rooms are simple en-suites, many with hammocks, all with stunning wide views over the bay and beyond to endless sea.
And you’ll love the food! You can expect the best of the classic vegetarian and vegan dishes from around the world along with intelligent use of new and original flavours, ferments and more. Enjoy fresh salads and homage to local delights. Lovingly-produced olive oil, Cretan tomatoes and local greens can shine alongside more curated dishes. Passionate chefs balance the individual meals as well as the weekly menu to keep the food a highlight of your stay.
The Yoga Rocks breakfast lounge, like your own kitchen, is available to help yourself 24/7. Refuelling with squeeze-your-own local oranges on the way back from the beach is a popular option or enjoy a relaxing pot of tea with a splendid view.
Agios Pavlos also has a couple of lovely local watering holes and beyond that, only a short walk, there are deserted spots if you want to avoid people altogether, or rest in unspoilt nature. The possibilities are immense: choose how to get the most from your stay. The Yoga Rocks crew encourage rest, naps and full relaxation alongside other options to ramp up your energy. While incredible excursions exist, many guests relish the joy of coming back to the retreat peace!
Here’s what one satisfied customer, Nathalia, had to say: “Everything was fantastic, the food was superb, the team is helpful and friendly. Our teacher and yoga sessions were truly inspiring. And it was a great pleasure to meet all the guests, what a nice and interesting group we were! Such a wonderful place they run there!”
