Welcome

Rise and shine, yogis. Summer is here, which means it’s time to get energised with yoga and the natural, healing powers of the sun. Step out into the great outdoors and soak it all up (but don’t forget your sunscreen!).

The combination of celestial energy and the ancient practice of yoga make it a wonderful time to be here on planet Earth. As the days become longer and warmer, it’s a great opportunity to take your practice outside, whether that’s a simple stretch in the garden or a session in the park. Yoga outdoors can bring a fresh perspective to your practice, helping you to refocus, reset and enjoy a change of scenery.

Thrive and feel alive with OM magazine. Inside, we’ve got some yoga rocket fuel to help propel you on your journey, wherever your mat takes you.

That includes a guide to yoga teacher training, exploring what’s involved, what to expect and some of the challenges and rewards students experience along the way. Whether you’re considering training yourself, or simply curious, take a look and discover some useful insights into the whole process.

There are plenty of other yoga goodies inside too, all designed to get you moving on the mat, including practical yoga sequences and anatomy through to the latest health foods and wellness products.

Looking ahead, we’ve also put together a preview of the OM Yoga Show in London later this year, to showcase some of the teachers, classes and other highlights you can expect. It’s a brilliant yoga weekender to look forward to as summer fades and autumn begins to return.

For now, I hope this issue gives you ideas, information and inspiration to support your yoga practice over the summer months. Wherever you find yourself — on a tropical beach in Bali or in the spare room of your flat in Beckton — just keep up the practice! May the long-time sun shine upon you, wherever you are.
