Making Yoga Accessible

How Frog Lotus Yoga opens the path for all

Yoga is for every body. Yet many people still feel that deepening their practice or becoming a teacher is out of reach, often believing that yoga postures must look a certain way to be valid. Frog Lotus Yoga International (FLY) challenges this idea by teaching yoga as a practice that adapts to the practitioner, not the other way around.

With over 25 years of international teaching experience, Frog Lotus Yoga has trained thousands of students worldwide. Its founder, Vidya Heisel, was voted Favourite Yoga Teacher Trainer in 2024 in the OM Yoga Awards, reflecting FLY’s grounded, compassionate and accessible approach.

Central to this is the intelligent and creative use of modifications and yoga props to make postures safe, supportive and accessible for all. Props and modifications are not seen as corrections, but as tools that allow students to experience the essence and benefits of each pose, regardless of age, injury, mobility, or experience.

FLY’s trainings blend traditional yoga philosophy with modern, inclusive methodology, placing strong emphasis on anatomy, alignment and practical teaching skills. Graduates are carefully prepared through hands-on practice to feel confident, safe and capable of teaching from day one.

At the heart of FLY’s offerings is the 200 hour yoga teacher training, available in two formats. The full in-person immersion is a three-week residential training offering a deep dive into asana, anatomy, philosophy and the art of teaching. The hybrid option combines self-paced online learning with a focused one week in-person module, making high-quality training accessible for those balancing work, family, or other commitments. All online modules can also be purchased individually for students wishing to explore specific topics without certification.

Both pathways are Yoga Alliance accredited and supported by scholarship opportunities. Frog Lotus Yoga also offers 50-hour continued education courses, supporting teachers at every stage of their journey.

All trainings take place at the beautiful Suryalila Retreat Centre in Andalusia, Spain, voted Favourite Yoga Retreat 2023 and 2024 in the OM Yoga Awards. Held in nature and community, Frog Lotus Yoga offers not just training, but a truly transformative experience.
