Yellow Yogis

Get your tickets now…big cancer charity event planned for Glasgow’s SEC this September

Beatson Cancer Charity has launched Yellow Yogis, a new large-scale fundraising event that will bring thousands of people together for a shared yoga experience at Glasgow’s SEC on Sunday 13th September. Led by internationally recognised yoga instructor Finlay Wilson, known as The Kilted Yogi, and hosted by TV and radio presenter Jenny Powell, Yellow Yogis has been created to be welcoming, inclusive and accessible to all. Participants of every level and ability take part in a one-hour yoga session, with the emphasis on enjoyment, connection and taking time out together. Tickets are priced at £35, with all proceeds supporting Beatson Cancer Charity’s Wellbeing Centre. Based within The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, the Wellbeing Centre offers emotional and practical support for people affected by cancer, as well as their families. It provides a calm and supportive space away from clinical areas.

Each participant receives a Yellow Yogis mat as part of their entry, along with access to additional activities on the day. The event aims to raise £250,000 to support the ongoing work of the Wellbeing Centre. Yellow Yogis was founded by Beatson Cancer Charity Business Ambassador Mike Smith, who wanted to create something that would bring people together and make a meaningful difference. “I’ve practiced yoga for years and have seen how powerful it can be for both mental and physical wellbeing,” he told OM. “That balance fits in with the vital work carried out in the Beatson’s Wellbeing Centre.” Set within one of Scotland’s best-known venues, Yellow Yogis celebrates community, wellbeing and shared purpose.
