Yoga & Aromatherapy

August is always a lively month. Nature is in full bloom and many people are on their summer holidays. A good oil to have by your side this month is jojoba oil (simmondsia chinensis). It has a longer shelf life than most oils and is less susceptible to damage from high temperatures which makes it perfect for packing in your suitcase. It’s a wonderful miracle worker and healer that supports the overall health of the body.

Jojoba oil is one of the best moisturisers that nature has to offer us; it is rich in vitamin E and also helps repair sun damage. So, if you’ve had a long day out in the summer sunshine, apply some jojoba oil to any affected areas and let the oil soothe and repair the inflamed skin.

The oil will also help smooth any frizzy summertime hair; add a couple of drops to damp hair after the shower, wrap hair in a towel and let the oil sink in. Alternatively, a couple of drops applied to the hair before swimming will ensure that your hair does not dry out.

Jojoba oil helps relax and calm your spiritual body and also aids a peaceful sleep: applying some to your face and body before bed will not only ensure your skin is moisturised but will also provide a good night’s sleep. So, wherever you go and whatever you do this month, make sure you have a bottle of jojoba oil with you.

Generally considered a safe oil for all.
