Rose Geranium (Pelargonium Graveolens. Var Roseum)

February comes from the Latin ‘februum’, or to purify; it used to be a month for cleansing and purifying the mind, soul and heart. The perfect oil to help us do this is rose geranium (pelargonium graveolens. var roseum). Made from the leaves and stem of the rose geranium plant, this lovely oil is far superior to regular geranium oil because of its sweet floral and rosy aroma that help to promote feelings of ease and grace.  It’s a good essential oil to help balance emotions. Place a couple of drops on a tissue and inhale deeply, and the rose geranium will work at helping to pick you up when your energy is low whilst calming and strengthening your life force and vital energy.
It also makes a lovely massage oil as it helps detoxify and reduce any inflammation. Place a couple of drops in some jojoba oil and massage well into the skin and allow the essential oil to help with the healing. Using it as a massage treatment will also allow you to open up to the beautiful aromas and feelings of relaxation and pleasure that rose geranium helps encourage. You can also add a couple of drops to some rosehip oil for a rich skin facial oil that will help balance the hormones whilst also boosting and rejuvenating the skin.
Try using some rose geranium oil this month to help purify mind, body and soul and raise your vibration.
Generally, a safe and non-toxic oil.
