My Yoga journey

A Personal Journey Towards Self-Discovery and Lifestyle Transformation - By Monali Shinde

What is yoga to me? Its just not a fitness but a lifestyle to me. Born in the hills of India, I have always had love for nature. I have always believed in the simple lifestyle, simple thinking and being kind and considerate which I have learnt from my family, neighbours and friends.

Everyone has to earn money for daily bread and butter needs. I was not different from others. I have completed my basic schooling in small town and moved to big city for better opportunities. This is a world of influence, hypnosis where you get pulled and stuck in a way that you crave for more and there is no U turn until you realise what happiness we do expect from life. I have had good career, marriage and a lovely kid.

Though there was something I was not happy about. This is the basic human nature that we never know what we are seeking for. I have lived in Europe, where I have met numerous people and realised, we need each other. We have taught yoga practices in school but since then my skills were remained unbrushed. I have decided to use my time look after myself and it was the beginning of my yoga journey in real terms.

It was a summer in Europe and we have travelled to India. My city was flooded with rain. We couldn’t go out of home hence I have decided to visit some place in north India where weather was still better. Rishikesh, is the divine place and capital of yoga. People here are cooperative, kind, helpful and loving. Alone woman can feel safe in the middle of the nights on the road. I have felt different vibes. Watching others working on their transformation journey.

I felt I should give it a try and I have registered myself for TTC. It was an amazing experience and it changed my life completely. WE will not know what we want from life until we seek and search for it. I have been exposed to many practices and I chose my path in this journey.

In no time I have completed my 200 and 300 HR TTC, prenatal postnatal yoga courses along with few meditation certification. With the erge of knowing more about self, our body and its connection to universe I have started learning nutrition and dietic. Eventually this has become my passion and lifestyle.

This year I have started yoga school named “Svadhyaya Yogashala” at Rishikesh India in order to devote my whole and soul to the Yoga.
