Mantra of the month

I am grateful
I am grateful

As we come to the end of the year, we reflect back on what we have achieved, what went right, what didn't go so well and what we want to change going forward and into the new year.

One lesson I have learnt from running my own small business is to find gratitude in every achievement, decision and outcome…no matter the outcome. When things don't go so well, how can we find a deeper sense of gratitude rather than regret, shame or guilt?

Usually when something doesn't work out as a result of a decision we have made, sometimes without conscious awareness of it, we learn a lesson of how to improve next time. It's easy to go into self-sabotage mode, losing self-esteem and thinking we are not worthy.

Instead, look at every outcome as a positive because even though it may not seem as though it worked out, the reality is that you have become stronger and more equipped with knowing how to deal with a challenging outcome next time.

In my meditation practice I reflect back and search for situations to find gratitude in. Awareness is key! This practice really helps me keep the belief that I am enough, no matter what happens. I'm grateful for the lessons and for the journey.

Prayer hands (Anjali Mudra)
This pose is perfect to accompany your mantra. Bring your prayer to your heart or third eye, close your eyes and take a moment to reflect back at moments you can find gratitude in. Even in the times where things didn't go to plan. You'll leave with a deep sense of peace knowing that it's okay if it didn't work out because maybe next time it will.
