School of Back Pain Studies

A new course for understanding back pain and related issues with The Alexander Barrie System of Pelvic Correction. By Alexander Barrie

Reading time: 4 minutes

Curiously, of mankind’s suffering, his true plague is his commonplace dislocated pelvis. If 100 people were taken from a town street at random and they each had their pelvis checked for alignment, 97 of them would present various types of dislocation. Perhaps only three people per hundred would enjoy pelvic alignment, and therefore suffering fewer aches or pains, if any.

The pelvis is the foundation of the skeletal frame; it is an elevated foundation and accords with the height of the individual. It aligns with the Visible Horizon (the imaginary line drawn when the sky meets the Earth). That is, when a given pelvis is blessed with alignment, and an imaginary horizontal plane is extended outwards from it, it will be parallel with the Visible Horizon. (This is an unseen connection with Mother Earth).

The pelvis suffers at least two major types of dislocation. The reason for this detrimental phenomenon is explained in my course/ workshop (details below) as well as how to correct it, but it is also discussed in my book: Correct Your Pelvis & Heal Your Back Pain.

Leg length discrepancy is always, without exception, an unhappy feature with the discombobulated pelvis. The incidence of this type of dysfunction is universally commonplace. Even those people of less developed societies in the world suffer just as much back and musculoskeletal-skeletal ache and pain as we do in our modern sophisticated and neurotic societies. This is because their spines and their pelvises are culpable, as with ours. Your hip, knee, ankle and foot pain and limited movement are mostly due to your dysfunctional pelvis. Your wrist, elbow, shoulder and neck aches and pains also involve your dislocated pelvis. And these dysfunctions cannot heal properly until your pelvis is realigned

This horrible but widespread disorder of the misaligned pelvis is the true plague, nothing much else medically can compete with it. Its detrimental consequences may be with you much of your life, and thus, it becomes progressively worse and commonly develops into a lumbar stenosis until alignment of the pelvis and spine is re-established.

It is important to note that respiratory and digestive disorders, so frequent, generally arise from a misaligned spine and pelvis amongst other ailments. Stenosis of the lumbar spine is dreadful to contemplate — it usually leads to paralysis of the leg, or legs inhibiting your freedom of mobility.
