Welcome

Greetings earthlings. August is a great time to really appreciate our amazing little planet and all that it offers (for me, it’s forest walks, but beaches are pretty fine too) — and yoga really is the best way to help you make the most of your time on it.

Spending time on a yoga mat — whether that’s for two minutes a day or a couple of hours — can literally transform your life experience. In fact, it can help foster a greater sense of calm and happiness to all who practice it. Millions of people around the world do yoga just for these reasons (and many other reasons too).

That’s why we’re featuring ways to tap into these incredible human feelings in our two special reports this month. If you’re a bit frazzled, just check into our Calm Clinic for ideas on how to reconnect with the peaceful you deep inside. And if you’re already feeling those joyful summer vibes then look through our Happiness report — this is our default state, if only we can remember to tune into it on a day-by-day basis.

Wherever you are on the happy or calm scale, yoga will meet you there. The important thing is just to do it and to do it regularly, even if that is just for a minute or two each day. It becomes like an anchor in your life, helping you to process the goings on in this wonderful, albeit peculiar, little old world of ours.

And, if you’re feeling positive, happy, joyous or just calm, peaceful and balanced, then you’re in a much better place to contribute to making it a better place too — whether you’re an eco warrior looking to save the rainforests or you just want to see people smile again on the high street.

Don’t let the craziness of the world get you down. Stay in the game. Just do yoga
